Kofi’s Lumpy Shadow

Starring Amara, Kofi, Dad
When Dad switches off the light, Kofi calls for him to come back. A big, lumpy shadow is waiting by the closet. Amara brings her flashlight, but can she help Kofi feel safe in the dark?
Dad clicks off the light. Kofi grips his blanket and calls, "Come back!" A big, lumpy shadow waits by the closet.
Amara hears Kofi from her room. His big sister grabs her flashlight and tiptoes in. She stops beside his bed.
Kofi points at the shadow. "Monster," he whispers. Amara shines her flashlight: it's his robe on a hook, but Kofi still cries.
Amara makes a bunny with her hands. It hops across the wall, and Kofi stops crying. Soft and slow, the shadows go.
Kofi copies Amara's hands, but makes a lumpy blob. "That's a very good dog," she says. "Woof," Kofi whispers.
Amara clicks the flashlight off. The blob disappears. "No light, no shadow," she says. Kofi reaches for the switch.
Kofi clicks the flashlight on and copies Amara again. Dad peeks in as their animals cross the ceiling. "Can we make more?" Kofi asks. Soft and slow, the shadows go.
Amara leaves the flashlight by Kofi's pillow. He holds it and falls asleep before switching it on. Soft and slow, the shadows go.
