Mateo's Great Big Bubble Wash

Starring Mateo, Abuelo

Mateo can't wait to help Abuelo wash the car. But a whole bottle of soap makes bubbles pile up taller than Mateo, and Chispa jumps right in. With everyone covered in suds and the car still dirty, what will they do next?

On sunny Saturday, Abuelo carried a bucket and sponge onto the driveway. Mateo ran after him. "I help!"

Abuelo handed Mateo a little sponge. "Try this one." Mateo squeezed it over his head. Splish!

Mateo tipped the whole soap bottle into the bucket. Whoosh! Bubbles piled up taller than him.

Chispa, their little brown dog, jumped into the bubbles. Out popped a cloud with a tail!

The car was still dirty. Suds covered everyone. Abuelo took a great big breath.

Abuelo smiled and picked up the hose. "Ready, Mateo? You're the rinse boss!"

Mateo pointed the hose, Abuelo's hands over his. Swoosh! He rinsed the car and Chispa clean.

They sat dripping on the warm driveway, sharing paletas. Mateo looked at the shiny car. "We did it."
