Starring Justin

“Chill Challenge time!” Justin said, pushing up his aviator sunglasses. He sniffed the lemony air, then grinned at Mira. A tiny firefly zipped close and sang, “Borrow my spark for one hour, Game-God Justin!” Justin chose yes, promising, “Only if everyone feels safe and seen.”

With a clap, shining chalk arrows mapped a dancing path, and soft shadows made a hop pattern. “Follow the light, but share the stars!” Justin called, turning it into teams so Mira could help lead. She beamed because his rule made the game kinder, which drew more cheers.

A sudden whoosh made the sprinkler maze blast too hard, splashing everywhere and smearing the map. “I messed up,” Justin said, heart sinking as time slipped and trust felt soggy. He chose to give the spark back to Glint early and asked, “Can we fix this together?” Mira nodded, grabbing towels.

Without magic, Justin said, “Sock-slide clean-up race!” They whooshed across wet towels, pushing water to the garden, which fixed the mess and the mood. Glint brightened and chimed, “Sharing and mending—that’s true power.” Justin’s orange shirt gleamed in the sunset, and Mira whispered, “Best game-god move ever.”
