Starring Mochi, Alice

When Mom steps out of the kitchen for just one minute, curious baby Alice and her bouncy Bernedoodle Mochi turn a quiet afternoon into a flour-dusted, bubble-slicked disaster. A game of fetch with a stuffed bunny snowballs into a kitchen catastrophe, a soapy flood, and a house wrapped in yarn. In the end, it isn't a scolding that saves the day, but the same silly game that started the trouble, leading them right back to Mom.

"I'll just be one minute," Mom said. She set a bag of flour on the yellow counter and hurried off to answer the phone. On the cold tiled floor, Alice squeezed lavender Bun-Bun tight while Mochi chewed the rubbery, orange Squeaky Bone with a wet crunch.

Alice giggled and flung Bun-Bun high across the floor. Mochi dropped her orange bone and lunged after the purple rabbit, her hairy paws sliding wildly on the smooth tiles. Bump! Her tail smashed into the cabinet legs, making the bag of flour tip.

Poof! White flour exploded across the room, coating Mochi from nose to tail like a fluffy snowman. Alice clapped her powdery hands, sending chalky white clouds drifting into the bright morning beams.

Mochi tried to lick her dusty nose but knocked over her heavy metal water bowl instead. The water spilled and mixed with the thick white flour. It turned the kitchen floor into a sticky, grey paste that clung to their toes.

Mochi shook herself hard, spraying grey paste onto the walls, before her wet paws slipped into the blue mop bucket. The soapy water sloshed over, sending a wave of slippery, lavender scented bubbles across the floor.

Mochi slid right out of the kitchen and crashed into Mom's wicker yarn basket in the hall. A trail of bright pink yarn unrolled behind her, looping around her legs and wrapping around Alice's little ankle like a soft web.

Mochi tried to wiggle away, but she only wrapped herself tighter in the pink thread, finally sitting down with a small huff. Alice pulled on the fuzzy wool, thinking this was the best game they had ever played.

Mom walked in and stepped on the Squeaky Bone with a loud squeak! She looked at the sticky, pink cocoon, sat on the floor, and laughed. Later, in the soapy warm tub, Alice squeezed her wet, lavender Bun-Bun with a bright smile.
