Sofia’s Whiff-and-Wing Rescue

Starring Sofia
Sofia adjusted her silver tiara and sniffed the air. “Follow that yummy smell!” she said, tiptoeing through the sunlit forest because the smoky scent of chicken wings made her tummy rumble. She traced the warm, spicy whiffs like a map, which led her toward the village square.
At a busy stall, a sticky jar lay shattered, and Chef Lolo groaned, “My honey glaze is gone!” Because she loves helping, Sofia said, “I’m Sofia, Princess of the West—let’s fix it.” She sketched a no-words flavor map with dots of ginger, orange, and herbs, so they mixed a new sauce together.
They glazed and tossed, but one shake added too much chili. Sofia took a bite and gasped, “Yow! Fire!” which made some kids step back and Lolo’s smile fade as precious time slipped away. “I’m sorry,” she said, quickly sweeping spilled spice and grabbing plain yogurt, lemon, and mint to craft a cooling dip.
After stirring the cool dip and a gentle sweet glaze, Sofia called, “Try dipping the spicy wings!” The crowd tasted, then cheered, which restored Lolo’s trust and the happy line returned. Sofia finally crunched a wing—zesty, sweet, and calm—and her tiara sparkled like the sauce as smoky swirls curled into the pink dusk.
