Sofia and the Bridge of Brave Questions

Starring Sofia
Sofia tiptoed toward the footbridge when she saw Gregory, the boy everyone whispered about. He sneered, tossing a pebble into the stream below, but she noticed his hands shaking. "Why do you always wait here?" Sofia asked kindly, her voice gentle. Gregory huffed, but a flicker of surprise crossed his face.
"What’s so funny about making someone else feel bad?" Sofia asked, her big eyes searching Gregory’s face. Gregory blinked, caught off guard by her question, then mumbled, "I dunno. It just...is sometimes." A cold breeze rustled the leaves, and for a moment, Gregory’s mask slipped, showing a flash of loneliness.
Sofia tilted her head and asked, "Do you ever feel like you’re the only one on your side?" Gregory’s voice wobbled. "Maybe." He kicked at a pebble. Sofia nodded, stepping closer, her dress brushing his shoe. "I think being alone is harder than being kind," she whispered.
Gregory dropped his guard and turned to Sofia. "Will you walk with me?" he asked, voice small. Sofia grinned and nodded, the two crossing the bridge together. Laughter bubbled up between them, and the forest seemed to cheer as their new friendship began.
