Sleepy Slime and the Beetle Boom-Boom Detour

Starring Sleepy Slime
Sleepy Slime yawned under a fern, its purple nightcap slipping low. A beetle parade boomed by—BOOM-clack-click! “Oh,” mumbled Sleepy, “my nap just wobbled.” Captain Click saluted and said, “Join us, or help us pass quietly?” Sleepy sniffed the air—leafy and sweet—and nodded, curious now.
Because the drums were so loud, Sleepy Slime tried a gentle plan. “Follow my soft path,” it whispered, trailing a smooth, shiny line that showed quiet, bouncy steps like a dance. Pip copied the squishy rhythm, and the clatter softened, which made everyone breathe easier. Captain Click grinned, “You’re guiding us to the square!”
Halfway there, Pip’s drum strap snapped—CLATTER! The beat exploded again, and the line tangled, costing time and frowns. Sleepy Slime chose fast: it shaped gel pads from its slime to cushion drums and tied Pip’s strap with a vine, then pointed to bright sun-dots on the ground like quiet markers. “Step on the light spots!”
The parade followed the sun-dots and squishy line, tip-tapping like raindrops. Sound turned warm and gentle, so Sleepy Slime curled onto a velvet leaf float, smiling a curious, proud smile. “Best quiet boom-boom,” Pip whispered, drumming soft as a purr. Under the fern, the purple nightcap bobbed while the beetles hummed a lullaby all the way to the square.
