Sofia’s Shimmering Shroom Switcheroo

Starring Sofia
Sofia, Princess of the West, tiptoed toward a ring of glowing mushrooms. "Just a tiny taste," she whispered, adjusting her silver tiara with pink gems. The caps felt soft like pillows and tasted sweet and earthy. She giggled, clapped, and before she knew it, she had eaten them all.
Right away, the path dimmed because the glow-mushrooms were gone. "Oh no," Sofia said as a pale-blue sprite zipped near. "You ate our lanterns!" cried Lumi, her tiny light flickering. Sofia bowed. "I'm sorry—I will plant new ones so everyone can see."
Guided by their earthy scent, she marked cozy spots where tree shadows curved like umbrellas. Sofia patted soil, tied a leaf into a funnel and a small gourd cup, and sprinkled sleepy spores. "Wake up, little seeds," she clapped in a steady rhythm. Nothing sprouted, because the ground was too dry and the moonlight hid behind clouds, which made Lumi frown and Sofia rethink her plan.
She angled her silver tiara to catch a moonbeam and bounced it onto the beds while Lumi poured dew through the leaf funnel. "Shine and sip," Sofia said, keeping the clapping beat so the spores could drink. With a soft fizz, bright domes popped up and spread a warm, rosy glow. Everyone cheered, and Sofia promised, "I will plant first and share later," as the new path of lights curved home.
