Sleepy Slime yawned so big the nightcap tip drooped. A warm, cheesy smell drifted by, which made its tummy sing, "Mmmm." “Nap later,” it murmured, and chose to follow the yummy scent instead.

Around the corner, Pippa the Pigeon fluttered down. “I know city smells,” she cooed. Because Sleepy Slime asked for help, they made a scent map on a leaf, dabbing oily spots where the smell felt strongest.

Sprinklers hissed on in the park, so the leaf map went soggy and mushy. Sleepy Slime drooped, and Pippa sighed. After spotting glittering crumbs near a bench, they chose to follow the crumb trail instead.

The crumbs led to a back-alley door that swung with whooshes of hot, tomatoey air. “Smells like victory,” whispered Pippa. Because Sleepy Slime felt shy, it knocked softly and asked, “May we please peek inside?”

Chef Marco smiled but said, “Rush hour! No samples now.” Sleepy Slime’s squish left a tiny slick spot, which made the chef frown. To fix it, Sleepy Slime chose to mop the floor with a napkin, and Pippa gathered fallen basil leaves.

Because they helped, Chef Marco grinned. He handed over a pinch of dough, saying, “Try a tiny moon pie.” Sleepy Slime suggested gentle cheese and sweet basil, and Pippa flapped to waft the good smells outside, which brought a line of customers to the door.

Suddenly, the oven puffed smoke, and a buzzer blared, which scared the customers. Chef Marco shouted, “I need hands!” Although slow, Sleepy Slime chose to press the big red stop button and seal a tiny leak, while Pippa pecked the timer. The kitchen calmed, and everyone cheered.

After the scare, Chef Marco served the first slice. “Your moon pie magic saved us,” he said. Sleepy Slime tasted pizza for the first time—soft, warm, and herby—so its smile felt extra cozy. That night, it napped on a clean pizza box, nightcap tipped like a tiny moon.
