Starring Ice Cream Man

Ice Cream Man rolled into camp, hat crunchy and bright. "I’m ready for fun!" he said, while little ribbons of hot fudge slid like warm chocolate. Counselor Brooke smiled. "We’ll keep you cool," she promised, which made him feel brave.

The sun peeked out, so he started to drip. Brooke unfolded a camp map with blue shady trails, and Camper Leo pointed. "Let’s take the cool path," Leo said, and Ice Cream Man chose shade under tall pines.

They hiked the shady path, and pine needles crunched like crispy cereal. A sweet vanilla-strawberry smell marked their way, so no one got lost. "I’ll lead," said Ice Cream Man, feeling proud and careful with each cool step.

They reached the lake for lunch, but a crackling fire whooshed hot. Ice Cream Man sagged, and a drip splashed right onto the map, which smeared red and brown and sticky. "Oh no!" gasped Maya, hurrying over with her bottle.

Because the map was a mess, they lost time and some kids groaned. Ice Cream Man said, "I’m sorry." Maya offered berry juice to redraw lines, and he shared a plan: "Let’s build a Cool-Down Canopy and mist line!" Everyone cheered and grabbed tarps, ropes, and buckets.

Wind kicked up, which yanked a tarp and blew heat from the fire toward them. Faces tensed. "New plan!" cried Ice Cream Man. He asked Brooke, "Can we do a bucket relay to cool the fire safely?" She nodded and set the rules.

They ran the relay, pouring water until the fire hissed and settled. Cheers burst out. After that, they rebuilt the canopy tighter and set gentle misters, so cool drops tickled every nose. Ice Cream Man felt steady again and helped finish the new map.

That night, a fresh fire glowed at a safe, far ring, and the mist line purred nearby. "Teamwork kept me cool," he said, happy and sweet. Fireflies dotted his waffle-cone hat like tiny stars, and the new map dried neatly by the tent, ready for tomorrow’s path.
