Sleepy Slime and the Barnyard Bedtime Blunder

Starring Sleepy Slime
Sleepy Slime slid through the farm gate, stifling a yawn under its purple nightcap. “Welcome,” said Farmer Dot, patting hay from her gloves as the barn smelled sweet and grassy. Rusty the Rooster crowed so loudly that Sleepy Slime wobbled, which made Daisy the Cow chuckle. Because everyone was busy, Sleepy Slime whispered, “I can help… then nap.”
Farmer Dot asked, “Could you watch the chicks while I get feed?” Sleepy Slime hummed softly by the little gate, but a cozy breeze felt like a blanket, so it dozed. The latch jiggled loose, and the Chick Trio toddled after the corn smell, which cost precious time. Rusty flapped, upset: “They’re out!” and trust felt a bit cracked.
“I’m sorry,” murmured Sleepy Slime, waking fast. To fix it, they studied tiny footprints like a map and sprinkled clover leaves to make a green-scent trail back, while Rusty clucked gently to mimic a mother hen. Daisy swung the gate steady so it wouldn’t drift again. Hope stirred, because a plan was forming together.
By sunset, peeps echoed near a muddy puddle; the chicks were stuck. Sleepy Slime stretched into a smooth, shiny bridge and waved its nightcap like a little flag, reflecting warm light so the Chick Trio followed across. Back at the coop, they braided grass into a stronger latch, which mended trust too. “Now,” said Farmer Dot, smiling, “a well-earned nap,” as stars blinked over the quiet barn.
