Sneeze, Breeze, and the Leaf-Map Keys

Starring Sofia
Sofia, Princess of the West, nibbled a tuna fish sandwich under the old oak. “Achoo!” she sneezed so loudly that glittering bluebirds burst from the branches, which made her map flip and tear. “Oh no—my map!” she gasped, grabbing her tiara as the pieces fluttered down the muddy path.
Because the wind carried the pieces away, Sofia chose to chase them through brambles and puddles. “I’m sorry, little birds!” she called, wincing as thorns tugged her pink hem and mud splashed cool on her shoes. She wanted to reach home by sunset for cocoa with the Queen, so she hopped stones and kept going, which steadied her brave heart.
At last she found most pieces, but the biggest one splashed into a puddle and the ink blurred. Sofia’s throat tightened. “Think, Princess of the West,” she whispered, choosing a broad oak leaf and taping the pieces on top so the lines still matched. A bluebird dropped a corner scrap from a twig, which made her grin with hope.
With the leaf-map patched, Sofia followed the faded trail home, guided by soft chirps and glints of blue wings. Because she thanked the birds and fixed the mess, her worry melted, and the path felt friendly again. “Cocoa time,” she smiled, tucking the leaf-map under her tiara at the door—a shiny reminder to sneeze away from maps!
