The Ferrari Slow-Go Showdown

Starring Justin
A shiny blue Ferrari hummed into the driveway like a big cat. Justin lifted his aviator sunglasses and grinned, "Slow-Go Showdown!"
Because he loves friendly contests, Justin mapped a course with fat chalk arrows and tiny checkered flags on cones. A gust whooshed through and sent the flags tumbling, which cost them time and made kids groan. "Mia, be my co-captain," he said, handing her chalk. She drew bigger arrows, and everyone cheered.
Dark clouds rolled in, and rain smeared the chalk into watery swirls. "My map!" Mia gasped, as disappointment spread. Justin cleaned the soggy paper bits first, then said, "New plan—light track!" He set out reflectors and the Ferrari's headlights to make twin glowing lanes as the rain eased.
At dusk, the Slow-Go Showdown began. Justin crept the Ferrari at walking speed while Mia waved the starter flag and kids followed the light-lanes, laughing. Because the plan changed, trust returned and cheers rose like music. The checkered flag dried on the warm red hood, shining in puddle reflections.
