Sofia skipped through the marketplace, nose filled with the scent of fresh bread and blooming flowers. Spotting a cheerful sign that read 'Chickens for Sale,' her eyes sparkled with excitement. Mrs. Maple waved from behind a wooden stall, holding a gentle chicken that clucked quietly. "May I buy this chicken?" Sofia asked, her heart fluttering with hope.

Mrs. Maple nodded, her blue eyes twinkling, and said, "Her name is Clucky, and she loves gentle pats!" Sofia grinned, feeling soft feathers as Clucky nestled into her hands. Clucky let out a cheerful "Bawk-bawk!" that made everyone around laugh. Sofia's heart bubbled with joy as she hugged her new friend close.

On the walk home, Sofia and Clucky heard birds chirp and felt the smooth pebbles underfoot. "I promise to take great care of you, Clucky," Sofia whispered tenderly. Clucky pecked curiously at a wildflower, making Sofia giggle. As they reached the castle gate, the garden smelled sweet and the sky glowed golden.

Later that evening, Sofia tucked Clucky into a cozy straw nest by the window. "Goodnight, Clucky!" she whispered, watching her new friend settle in. Sofia felt a fluttery happiness inside knowing she and Clucky would share new adventures every day. Moonlight glowed gently across the room, promising a tomorrow full of surprises.
