Starring Hairy balloon man

At the bright carnival, Hairy balloon man adopts Annie the Anaconda from a reptile rescue booth, hoping for a calm new friend. A loud pop startles Annie, sending her gliding into the midway, and he must track her with help from Pip and Marta. After getting tangled and losing time, he uses his squeaky pump, knots, and a soft balloon tunnel to guide Annie safely back. He learns that caring for a friend means making careful choices, and sometimes the best home is with helpers who know just what they need.

The carnival smelled like popcorn and sugar, and his squeaky pump went “peep, peep!” as balloons bobbed. “Perfect knots for perfect days,” he said, tying a star for a giggling kid. He spotted a sign: “Reptile Rescue Friends.” His eyes went bright and curious.

At the booth, Marta smiled. “Meet Annie,” she said. The gentle anaconda slid like warm water, scales glossy and patterned. “I can care for her,” he whispered, heart thumping, so he adopted Annie with a safe carrier and clear rules from Marta.

A drum boomed, a balloon popped, and Annie slipped from the open carrier flap. “Oh whiskers!” he gasped, feeling prickly with worry. Pip ran up. “I’ll help! I’m good at looking.” They followed the shiny scale trail under twinkly lights because they didn’t want her scared.

They marked turns with ribbon bows, and he pumped soft blue balloons as friendly signs. But his ribbon snagged, and he frowned. “My scissors! I forgot them again.” Time slipped by, which made Pip’s smile droop, and Marta looked worried, too.

He breathed slow and used neat knot tricks to free the ribbon, which cheered Pip a little. They found Annie curled by the carousel, eyes shiny in the spinning lights. When he moved the carrier close, she slid under the platform instead, so his plan had to change.

“Soft and slow,” he said. He pumped calm blue balloons into a long tunnel and tied careful knots, while Marta set a warm mist and a tiny pretzel crumb path. Pip whispered, “This looks cozy.” Because the tunnel felt safe, Annie peeked back out, curious.

Annie slid through the soft tunnel, scales whispering. He held the carrier steady and spoke kindly, so she coiled inside with a quiet rustle. Everyone cheered, and his chest felt warm and floaty, but this time not from forgetting things.

“Annie will stay with Marta,” he decided, “and visit me at the park.” He donated the balloon tunnel to the rescue booth and helped clean the ribbon mess, which fixed the lost time. Pip grinned. As fireworks bloomed, his pink beard glowed while he tied a balloon snake with a loving knot.
