Moss, Maps, and a Breezy Nap

Starring Sleepy Slime

Sleepy Slime yawned and patted a fluffy moss pillow. "Perfect for a nap," it mumbled, snuggling its purple nightcap. A sudden breeze whooshed by, which scattered the moss like green snow, and Sleepy Slime’s eyes popped open in worry.

Because the pillow was gone, Sleepy Slime whispered, "I’ll find every tuft." Twiglet the Squirrel skittered down a trunk and said, "Let’s make a map!" They drew swirly breeze-arrows in soft dirt, which showed where the moss drifted.

Following the map, they sniffed the air; the moss smelled cool and minty. Moss Moth fluttered close, sprinkling a soft dust that twinkled on lost tufts. With a vine net Twiglet tied, they scooped pieces, so the pillow pile began to grow.

A bigger gust leaped from the pond, which pushed their gathered moss into the water. The pile bobbed away, and Sleepy Slime drooped. Flicker Firefly zipped in and said, "I can light a path to herd it back!"

They waved bright light, but fish splashed and scattered the moss again, which cost them more time. Sleepy Slime took a slow breath and chose a new plan: "Gentle, not flashy." Using leaves as rafts and a shadow line from Flicker’s dimmed glow, they guided tufts to shore.

Back on land, they rebuilt the pillow, but it felt lumpy and prickly. "I know a trick," Sleepy Slime murmured, humming a soft, slow tune. The gentle buzz made the moss settle and fluff evenly, which eased everyone’s worry.

The air grew tense as another breeze curled the ferns. This time, Sleepy Slime tied vine loops and tucked pinecones as anchors, so the pillow held fast. The gust rushed by—and failed! Everyone cheered, and Sleepy Slime sighed with happy relief.

After the windy work, friends nestled near the finished pillow. It smelled fresh like rain on grass, which made Sleepy Slime’s eyes drift closed. "Next time, we plan first," Twiglet whispered. The moss pillow gleamed in dappled light, a cozy promise for every breezy day.
