Sir Goat and the Sticky Jar

Sir Goat, the friendly knight of Farwood Village, loves eating unusual things, but his appetite gets him into trouble when he plunges his snout into an open jar of peanut butter and glues his jaws shut. After tugging and shaking fail, he tries rubbing the paste away on a stone, only to get the pebble stuck to his tongue as well. With help from Pip, who brings a crisp celery stalk, Sir Goat scrapes the peanut butter free and discovers that celery with peanut butter makes the best snack ever. He shares the remaining celery leaves with Pip, showing that accepting help and sharing can turn a sticky problem into a happy ending.

Sir Goat was the friendly knight of Farwood Village. Other knights polished their swords, but Sir Goat polished his appetite. Crunch! He gobbled woolly hair. Munch! He munched woven carpet. Chomp! Down went a tin can.

One afternoon, a strange sweet smell floated past his twitching nose. Sir Goat followed the scent straight to a picnic table. Resting on the wood sat his ultimate match. An open jar of peanut butter.

Sir Goat plunged his snout right into the jar. "Mmm-mff!" he cheered. But when he tried to open his jaws, nothing moved. The gooey brown paste glued his mouth firmly shut.

He tried tugging his chin. Mff! He tried shaking his head till his ears flopped. Mff-mff! "Need help?" chirped Pip, fluttering down on a fence post. Sir Goat could only give a panicked nod.

Sir Goat leaned down and tried to lick a cool stone to rub the paste away. But the pebble just stuck to his tongue! Now he had a sticky mouth AND a rock attached.

Pip hopped over to the garden patch. "You need a scraper, not a stone!" she chirped. She picked up a crisp green celery stalk with her beak and held it out.

Sir Goat slid the crunchy stalk between his teeth like a lever. CRUNCH! The stiff veggie scooped the peanut butter right out. His jaws popped open, sending the pebble tumbling onto the grass.

Sir Goat swallowed the delicious crunch of celery and peanut butter together. "Best snack ever!" he declared. Then he offered Pip the rest of the celery leaves with a sweeping bow.
