Roll, Glow, Mooncakes!

Starring Chooka

When glowing mooncakes roll out of Chooka's snack tin, Chooka straps five-month-old Azari into a wobbly sand sled and gives chase through a moonlit desert observatory. Their star map points toward the great telescope, but one mooncake gets caught in its rusty track while the others keep rolling. With the comet nearly at the Moon, Chooka and Azari must get every glowing cake to the dome in time.

At the moonlit desert observatory, Chooka tightened the sled's loose turquoise bolt while five-month-old baby girl Azari crinkled the Star Map beside six mooncakes in Chooka's snack tin. He tucked Azari's blanket beneath the safety strap. "No tricky job gets left crooked," Chooka said. Trace the map's route with one finger, toward the dome.

The six mooncakes flashed lemon-yellow and popped from Chooka's snack tin, rolling over the sand and zipping through the observatory gate with sesame sparks behind them. "Azari, stay snug," Chooka called. "Roll, glow, don't miss the Moon!"

Chooka checked Azari's strap twice, grabbed the indigo rope, and ran. The Wobbly Sand Sled skittered down a steep sandy ramp after the sesame trail. "Sand sled, downhill!" Chooka called, as the telescope dome loomed ahead.

At the great telescope, one mooncake wedged itself in the rusty track while five others kept rolling toward the shut dome. Chooka twisted the stuck cake free. "A tricky job needs every last bit," Chooka said. "Roll, glow, don't miss the Moon!"

Azari gave one mighty baby kick, flipping the Star Map upside down across the sled. Its gold line matched the sesame trail exactly. Trace that comet route with one finger. Why were mooncakes racing along it?

Chooka held the flipped map beside the dome, where its gold comet route ended at the rusty gear. "The mooncakes are repair crew! They must roll together before the comet reaches the Moon," Chooka said. Trace the route with one finger, right to the gear.

Chooka tightened the track screw, then propped the Wobbly Sand Sled into a ramp. All six mooncakes thundered down, bounced off the ramp, and rolled together through the gear teeth. "Roll, glow, don't miss the Moon!" Chooka called.

The dome clanked open as the comet whisked past the Moon like a bright sesame seed. "Roll, glow, don't miss the Moon!" Chooka cheered as one last mooncake rolled him a tiny screwdriver. He dropped it into the snack tin. "Good. This tin needs a hinge."
