Bristle Boogie: The Baboon Brush-Along

Starring Silly Baboon, Mr. Toothbrush

Silly Baboon munched a gooey banana treat and wrinkled his nose. "My smile feels sticky!" he said, a little worried. Mr. Toothbrush twinkled his bow tie and sang, "Let’s do the Bristle Boogie! Brush-brush, swish-swish, sparkle up your grin!" Silly giggled and clapped along.

"First, drip-drop!" sang Mr. Toothbrush as Silly turned on the tap. "Pea-sized paste on top!" Silly squeezed a tiny minty dot and sniffed the cool smell. Together they sang, "Brush-brush, swish-swish, start the song again!" and they felt excited to begin.

"Tiny circles on the front!" Mr. Toothbrush chimed. Silly brushed gently and counted, "One, two, three…" feeling the soft tickle and minty tingle. They sang, "Round and round, up and down, make those pearly fronts shine!" Silly’s worry began to melt into joy.

"Now the backs!" sang Mr. Toothbrush. Silly puffed his cheeks and reached inside, humming, "Swish-swish, back we go!" The cool mint made his mouth feel like a snowy cave. He grinned between verses, proud he could reach the tricky spots.

"Scrub the tops where chompers chomp!" Mr. Toothbrush drummed a rhythm, tap-tap-tap. Silly brushed left, right, left, right, singing, "Bristle beat, steady feet, keep the crunchers clean!" Foam bubbled like tiny clouds, and the sticky taste faded away.

"Sweep the gums, gentle and kind," sang Mr. Toothbrush softly. Silly nodded and made soft strokes, then brushed his tongue: "Shoo, sugar bits!" They sang together, "Brush-brush, swish-swish, tongue and gums are friends!" A cool, clean breeze feeling filled Silly’s mouth.

Silly took a sip and swished—swish-swish—then spat with a happy, "Pah!" He checked the mirror and gasped, "Shiny!" Mr. Toothbrush beamed, "Morning and night, that’s our song." They tapped a cheerful handle-to-hand high five.

They sang the chorus one more time: "Brush-brush, swish-swish, sparkle up your grin!" Silly bowed and whispered, "I can teach myself now!" Mr. Toothbrush nodded, proud and glowing. The jungle felt minty-fresh, and their hearts felt light as a song.
