The sun peeks through the nipa thatch, In Tita Nora's cozy patch. The garlic sizzles, rice steams hot, The pandesal toasts on the pot. The toddlers wake with tummy songs, And Tita Nora hums along.
Gabriella hums her pocket tune, Beneath the morning sun at noon. Coco giggles at the light, Her gingham dress is pure delight. London's pigtails bounce and sway, As Cara comes to join the play. The carabao chews grass slow, Outside where warm breezes blow.
"The adobo smells rich and brown! The arroz caldo cools down." "But we are hungry!" London cries, Coco rubs her sleepy eyes. "The lumpia fries, the pancit waits, We cannot eat from messy plates!" Tita Nora stirs with care, "First we must prepare the fare."
They try to help but things go wrong A pot lid clangs! Gabriella's song Is stopped by surprise; she jumps up high, Her pocket animals hear her cry. Coco chases something bright, And spills the water, what a sight! London drops the cups they bring, While Cara tries to do everything.
"Let's try as one," says Tita wise, With kindness shining in her eyes. She hands the walis tambo round, To sweep the banig on the ground. Gabriella holds it tight, Despite the clanging noise and fright. Coco wipes the spoons with glee, And London hangs the parol carefully.
The bibingka cools on the rack, The table set, no looking back. The halo-halo gleams so sweet, With colors layered, what a treat! "Come eat, my loves!" Tita calls, Inside the bahay kubo walls. The carabao gives a soft moo, As they gather two by two.
They crunch the lumpia, crisp and gold, They slurp the pancit, brave and bold. The adobo tastes like home, No one eats alone, alone. Sticky fingers, happy faces, Ube ice cream leaves sweet traces. But look! One scoop of purple remains— Just enough for growing pains.
Coco holds the purple scoop, Then pauses with a smile so deep. She splits it into portions four, To share with friends who want some more. Now tummies full and hearts are light, They hug Tita Nora tight. Inside the kubo, warm and deep, They drift into a slumber sleep.
