Storywish provides parents with a way to quickly and easily create high quality personalized children's stories to read with their kids. The goal is to spark wonder, play, joy, and connection as kids and parents experiment with new characters and story situations, until they create and refine a story that they end up really enjoying — ultimately memorializing it into a physical book they can keep or gift.
You can explore characters and read public stories without signing up. To create your own story, you'll need an account, which includes 3 free stories, 2 characters, and 2 edits. No credit card required on the free plan.
Create your characters, choose an art style, and let Storywish handle the rest. Most families have their first story ready in just a few minutes.
Your child becomes the hero. You build characters based on real people using names, appearances, and details that matter to your family — or you can create characters based on fiction. The story is written and illustrated around them, not just swapped into a generic template.
It depends on your plan. Free users can create 3 characters. Basic plan members get 15 per month, Premium monthly members get 30, and yearly plan members can create up to 110 or 250 characters depending on the tier.
Yes. Every plan includes edits for the cover, text, image, etc so you can refine your story until it feels just right. Free users get 2 edits, and paid plans include many more. Inpainting is also available for precise image edits.
All paid plans include access to every art style (Anime, Sketch, Crayon, Cutout, 2D and 3D). Free users have access to 2D illustration and 3D styles.
Each story is 8 pages plus a cover, giving you a complete illustrated book your child will want to read again and again.

Yes. If you only need an extra story or character without subscribing, you can pay as you go. Pricing starts at $0.50 per story and $0.15 per character.
Yes. There are no long term contracts on any plan. You can cancel whenever you like.
Yes. Premium plan members receive printed books as part of their plan: 1 per month on the monthly Premium plan, and 10 per year on the yearly Premium plan. You can also order printed books individually on any plan for $25 per book.
It's a professionally printed book. Your illustrated story is brought to life and delivered right to your door. The kind of keepsake kids treasure for years. Each book is a softcover and includes a dedication page, character cast pages, and the full story. Hardcover editions will be available soon.
Printed books are fulfilled by a professional printing partner and shipped to your address. Delivery times depend on your location but usually around 2 weeks. You will receive updates once your order is placed. We do have advanced shipping options too.
Because every printed book is made to order and custom created for your family, we are unable to accept returns. That said, if your book arrives damaged, please reach out to us right away and we will send you a new one. Just contact us at seth@storywish.ai and we will make it right.
We only ask for the details needed to create your story. We keep things simple, secure, and transparent. We don't store any uploaded images.
Yes. Storywish takes privacy seriously, especially when it comes to your children's information. We treat your family's data with care and do not sell or share it.
Storywish is designed from the ground up for kids and families. Every story is generated with child safety in mind, and our AI is built to avoid anything inappropriate. That said, AI is not perfect. If a story ever feels off, you can edit it, regenerate it, or reach out to us at seth@storywish.ai and we will take care of it right away. You are always in control of what your child sees before it gets read aloud. You're also able to submit feedback in the story itself.
Yes. You can upgrade or downgrade your plan at any time from your account settings.
You can purchase additional stories individually, or upgrade your plan for more. You can simply add money to your wallet in $10 increments and pay for stories, characters, edits as you go.
Limits are reset every billing cycle (monthly or yearly).
